The Road to the Bar

Terms of Use

Questions about these terms? Email support@startuplab24.com.

The service

This application lets practicing lawyers apply to the Bar Transfer Course (powered by Blackstone School of Law) and, once enrolled, access course materials and track their Bar Standards Board application. It is a preparation and administration service — it does not itself confer the title of barrister.

Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information and documents you submit, and for keeping your login secure. Provide truthful information — misrepresentation may affect your application to the UK bodies.

Fees

Blackstone tuition is $2,100, payable in 10 monthly installments of $210. Fees charged by UK bodies — the Bar Standards Board, Lincoln's Inn, and the assessment provider — are set by those bodies, paid by you directly to them, and are subject to change. We show current figures for guidance only.

Refunds and cancellation

Change your mind within 14 days of enrolment and we refund your tuition in full, provided the course has not substantially begun. After the 14 days you can still cancel future installments; fees for months you have already accessed are non-refundable. Fees paid directly to UK bodies are governed by those bodies' own refund rules, not ours.

If you are an EU consumer, you have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right for online purchases, which this policy honours.

Course materials and intellectual property

All course materials we provide are owned by or licensed to Blackstone and are for your personal use in the course only. You may not copy, share, resell or publish them without our written permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, share your login, upload unlawful content, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms or submit false information. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

Limitation of liability

We provide the service with reasonable care but do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the tuition fees you have paid us. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

No guarantee of outcome

Admission to the course does not guarantee that the Bar Standards Board will grant exemptions, that you will pass assessments, or that you will be called to the Bar. Those decisions rest with the UK bodies. We prepare and support your application to the best of our ability.

Your data

How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will post the revised version here with a new date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of Pakistan. Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your home country.
