Sri Lankan courtroom practice — precedent, oral advocacy, the discipline of the Supreme Court's jurisprudence — shares its roots with the English bar. Your enrolment as an attorney-at-law is where this route begins.
Your practice continues uninterrupted. The course is online and built for practitioners: appear at Hulftsdorp in the morning, study on your own schedule after.
You travel to the United Kingdom for the assessments, the ten Qualifying Sessions with your Inn, and your Call — fixed, plannable dates we help you arrange around your hearings.

Every BSB document — and where you get it in Sri Lanka
The BSB's document list is written in UK terminology. Here is what each item is called in Sri Lanka, and which body issues it — so you never have to guess which local document matches which requirement.
BSB asks for
Certificate of Good Standing
From each regulator or professional body you are regulated by or registered with. An admission certificate is not accepted as a replacement.
In Sri Lanka, that means
Certificate from the Registrar of the Supreme Court confirming you remain on the Roll — with a good-standing letter from the Bar Association of Sri Lanka if you are a member

Your certificate of admission and enrolment is an admission document — pair it with a CURRENT status letter from the Registrar; on its own it is not accepted.
BSB asks for
Certificate(s) of recognition of rights of audience
Evidence of the rights of audience you hold. Confirmation of completing rights assessments with a training provider is not sufficient on its own.
In Sri Lanka, that means
Evidence of admission and enrolment as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court, which carries audience before Sri Lankan courts

Chronological CV
Educational qualifications and employment history, with the job title and a list of duties for each role.

Include your enrolment date, chambers or firm history, and the courts you appear before — with duties per role.
BSB asks for
Certificates & transcripts of formal qualifications
From undergraduate degree level onwards — academic, vocational and professional awards. Transcripts must show modules studied, marks obtained, overall classification or grade, and dates of study.
In Sri Lanka, that means
Degree certificates and transcripts, and/or your Sri Lanka Law College final examination record

Documents must show subjects, marks, class, and dates — request full transcripts, not just the award certificate.
BSB asks for
Certified English translations
Required for any document not originally produced in English.
In Sri Lanka, that means
Certified English translations of any document issued in Sinhala or Tamil

BSB asks for
Case list (where applicable)
Significant criminal and/or civil cases where you appeared as an advocate, emphasising cases you led on your feet. A separate document, preferably tabular: case title/number/citation, court or tribunal, month(s)/year(s) heard, a short summary and outcome, and your role (leading, assisting). Confirmation from the court or a supervisor's co-signature is recommended where possible.

Tabular list of significant matters you argued as counsel
From: Compiled by you from court records
Give the NLR or SLR citation where reported; state the court (Magistrate's, District, High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court) and your role.

Reference / experience letters
Letters from referees who can speak to your legal experience and practice.
In Sri Lanka, that means
Reference letters from President's Counsel, senior attorneys, or judges familiar with your work

Indicative travel
You'll need to be in the UK for your assessments, for the 10 Qualifying Sessions every transferring lawyer completes with the Inn, and for your Call to the Bar. Budget your own airfare and stay — we'll help you group these into as few trips as the Inn's calendar allows.
$2,100 to Blackstone + ~£2,420 to UK bodies + BPP's assessment fees + your travel.
BPP sets its own assessment fees and publishes no fixed figure — confirm current rates with BPP directly. We'd rather leave a gap here than quote you a number we can't stand behind.
14 days to change your mind
Your first $210 registers your place and is documented in your portal — it is not a commitment you cannot walk back. Change your mind within 14 days of enrolment and we refund your tuition in full, provided the course has not substantially begun. After the 14 days you can still cancel future installments; fees for months you have already accessed are non-refundable.
Fees paid directly to UK bodies are governed by those bodies' own refund rules, not ours. Read the full terms.
UK fees are paid directly to the Bar Standards Board, Lincoln's Inn, and BPP. They are set by those bodies and subject to change — figures verified July 2026.
